Board of Trustees
The Houston A+ Challenge Board of Trustees provides vision, leadership and guidance to the organization and its staff.
Executive Team
Led by our Executive Director, Scott Van Beck, our team of directors oversees the work of Houston A+ Challenge in schools and in the A+ office.
Coaching Team
A+ Performance Coaches work on campus in Challenge Network middle schools, partnering with teachers and school leaders to build capacity for excellent classroom instruction and student learning in mathematics and literacy. Performance Coaches also work directly with students and their families to provide extra instructional time, enrichment, and help planning for post-secondary success.
A+ Leadership Coaches provide guidance, training and support to principals, assistant principals, and aspiring principals from across the Houston region. The focus of their work is to improve instructional leadership and capacity for schoolwide improvement efforts.
Home Team
Our administrative staff provides professional and courteous support to all A+ team members in the field, as well as to visitors and callers to the office.
Houston A+ Challenge works collaboratively with public school districts to challenge all students to reach higher levels of success in school and in life.
Our seasoned team of coaches works alongside teachers and school leaders to improve classroom teaching, so that more students achieve at high levels.
In the current 2010-11 school year, Houston A+ Challenge is working with students, families, teachers and school leaders in the following public school districts: Aldine, Alief, Cypress-Fairbanks, Goose Creek, Houston, Humble and Spring Branch.
